Organising Committee and Organising Team

The Executive Committee of the IAPL wished for the XXIst Congress of the IAPL to take place in France, specifically in the year 2024, which marks the centennial anniversary of the creation of the IAPL in Paris.

To this end, the IAPL Executive Committee contacted the French Association of Criminal Law (AFDP) as the French national group.

The AFDP reached out to Professor Didier Rebut, the Director of the Paris Institute of Criminology and Criminal Law (ICP), which served as the headquarters of the IAPL upon its establishment in 1924. The purpose was to inquire if Professor Rebut, on behalf of the ICP, the University Paris Panthéon-Assas to which the ICP is affiliated, and the AFDP, would agree to organise the XXIst Congress of the IAPL.

Professor Stéphane Braconnier, President of the University Paris Panthéon-Assas, who was approached by Professor Didier Rebut, expressed the support of the University Paris Panthéon-Assas.

In consultation with the IAPL officials, the dates for the XXIst Congress were set for June 25th to June 28th, 2024.

An organising committee has been established with the following composition:
